Sunday, January 16, 5:00pm PST / 8:00pm EST

Through music, readings, guest speakers, and personal testimonies from workers in the field, we will combine traditional T"u b'Shevat imagery of nature with the obligation to advocate for worker justice.

THE JEWISH ROOTS OF WORKER JUSTICE MOVEMENTS IN AMERICA
The Torah instructs us to treat laborers with dignity.

"You shall not abuse a needy and destitute laborer, whether a fellow countryman or a stranger…else he will cry to God against you and you will incur guilt." (Deuteronomy 24:14)

“You shall not defraud your neighbor, nor rob him; the wages of he who is hired shall not remain with you all night until the morning" (Leviticus 19:13).

Securing the safety and dignity of essential workers in any society is impressed upon us multiple times in the Torah and Prophetic writings. We all have a duty and role to play.
